On a wave of growth Simcoe County launches a new corporate brand and tourism strategy.

Tourism Simcoe County hosted dignitaries, including Minister Donna Cansfield (above) and tourism industry representatives at a reception at Horseshoe Resort on October 13, 2009 to announce the launch of Tourism Simcoe County, formerly called the Huronia Tourism Association and to showcase seven experiences that represent the new brand.

Shortly after the creation of the City of Kawartha Lakes by the provincial government, Kenneth Caplan and Associates Limited was retained assist in developing a brand image for the new municipality.

We led a process that involved a community design competition and assisted a committee in determining the winning selection.

We developed graphic standards for the brand and prepared a comprehensive user’s manual that included instructions for reproduction and applications including corporate stationery, fleet vehicle graphics, signage and other aspects of municipal identification.

We carried the program forward with of tourism advertisements that featured the theme “Discover Yourself in Kawartha Lakes”. The ads were produced in a variety of templates that permitted the contents to be adapted quickly and economically for different publications.
